First, I planned on ordering a set for Candy-O. Then, I was told by a parts guy at the dodge dealer that Mopar was stopping their orders with their supplier because of the rubber knobs on the pedals exhibiting spider webbing. ??? Anyone have this problem?

Also, if I do decide to buy a set off eBay what is involved with installing them? Is it just a cover that you stretch over the existing pedals?

I haven't heard of anything like that before. I'll snoop around now see if I find anything.
On a side note... that poor lady who passed out on your HO with the Marshal stacks and the Flying V just draws to much attention away from our writting :p

The accelerator pedal just snaps on over the stock one. The brake pedal isn't so easy. Use a hooked tool and let it sit in hot water before installing. So far, haven't noticed any spider webbing on mine.

No spider webbing on mine. I have the factory rubber pedal in a box. Very chunky for a pedal.
Heating pedal prior to install sounds logical. How hot is the actual brake pedal itself?

Keep posting, your Candy O Avatar is just so damn distracting.

    O, o.k. then. :D

I'm wondering what you mean by "how hot is the actual brake pedal itself?" question?

And your saying that the "cover" that goes over top the existing pedals make it feel "chunky" in an odd way or a good "substantial" way?

    Sorry for not being clear.
The original rubber brake cover removed is rather chuncky. I surprised how heavy it seemed. The Stainless pedal seems more slim and less bulky.
As far as the temperature of the actual brake pedal itself, if it's kind a warm, then it's expanded already. The stainless cover that you are trying to attach should be at a slightly higher temperature to slip it on to ensure it is expanded just a bit more than the actual pedal.

So I guess I should do as Jax said and soak it in some hot water first? Good to hear so far no one having problems with the rubber pcs. splitting/webbing.

From the sound of it Velocity I have to remove the brake pedal and not the gas pedal???

The brake pedal for sure because I have the original of removed stock components in a box.
It looks like cover is directly on the gas peddle because I can feel a very small overlap of the stainless cover on the black pedal.

Ok so I'm ordering a set of mopar pedal covers on the 1st for my birthday. Are the original rubber parts of the pedals removed? Or do the new parts slip over the existing rubber?

I know that the rubber comes off the brake pedal and the mopar metal covers goes over the bare brake pedal. The original rubber brake pedal is kind of chunky and has some mass to it.

I still believe the mopar metal cover goes directly on the gas pedal because of the way mine sits on the gas pedal and is not rubber but a very hard plastic...from the side view.

My dealer said the gas pedal went on no problem. The brake pedal cover takes some more work as it's a really tight fit.
I suggest heating the pedal cover up with a hair dryer to expand it slightly and then get it in place quickly.

2nd link is what I'm buying. My wife said the other set looked like a big ugly remote control unit. 2nd link set are the Mopar covers.

The bright pedal kit is one of the few mods that i haven't done yet that i wanted when i first got the car. My old charger came with optional pedal trim so i have to get it on the challenger too. Maybe i'll order one the next time i head to the dealer. I have to take it in for a recall notice anyway, may as well see if i can get the pedal kit then.
