CAI question

I see NsYs and chromeintake CAI systems for half the $$$ of K&N.
With a K&N filter would these CAI's be worse off for quality/fit etc than a full up K&N CAI?

The pricing on ebay is goofy for those chromeintakes but I saw one for like $18 + shipping. For that price you probably can't go wrong, I think the heat shield that comes with more expensive units is helpful though. Fitment and quality of the tube probably isn't that crucial with these setups since it connects with just a rubber coupler at the throttle body and your stock tube wasn't smooth to begin with.
with a K&N - they are EXACTLY compatable

That's your setup right? That's what I figured, the tube doesn't matter, just a good filter. As far is fitment, shouldn't be an issue since the tolerances for a flexible plastic filter clamped on a 3" tube aren't that tight. How bout the IT sensor? Did you have any trouble getting that to seat properly? Any tricks to it?
simple easy plug in fit
