Catch can question

OK so I know what an oil catch can is and does.
My question is this really a good mod (time, $$$, effort etc) if I am just a regular driver who gets regular oil changes etc?
Also is it a warranty voider?

Not a warranty voider, and very much worth the cost and effort.
I haven't added it yet either, but intimadater just did, can't wait to hear how much he caught on his SE. Seems they are same as the water catcher on my 60 gal. air compressor tho, same principal, and that one has a clear bowl and drain valve, so I MAY just make my own, won't be as purty as the BT ones, but should work the same. I put 42k miles on a 04 non-MDS Hemi, and never heard of such, so I don't know why the new Hemis seem to need them, but I wasn't active on the Internet much back then either. This community has cost/saved cost on mods I never knew I needed/didn't need.
try this - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OIL-...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item414c2aecb6

I bought mine for 10.00 and repainted body color with stripes

They are actually a good thing for all engines...
3 weeks after installing it I checked it and it had about a tablespoon of oil in it. well worth the expense. Mine was a little more because I got the adonized blue one to go along with the blue in my engine bay. still it was $117 shipped.

just go to this thread and you will find how to install one. ;)

Thanks,

I will say I am a verygood people mechanic but a not so much auto mechanic. Is this something the average Joe can do? Or do I just need to plan on asking Dodge to install?
took me about 30 minutes to install, just use the photos on that posts and it will all fall in place. the pic on the instructions that come with it are hard to see.

I thought it was going to be hard, but after looking at the instruction pics in the post......, it was a breeze.

i actually read on another site where someone had used a water separator
from an air compressor for a catch can. cost them like $10 to make it:idea:
personally, i won't be adding one to my SE. i have one on my hemi, but only because i was seriously racing it at the track. as for a daily driver, it is a waste of money and could cause more issues that it is worth. i don't recommend it for an SE.
