well, it's about time for the racing season to start and as well in the real world, it starts in our sim racing league.

Nascar2003 sim racing game came out in 2003. Paparus/Seirra
started making that game back in the 90's I have been online racing since 93. Now this is not some Playstation game, this is a PC oriented game.

For this year I am racing another Dodge Challenger(based on a Charger Frame)

I am a Dale Sr. fan as you can see my number is 3. I like to race some of his old paint schemes and this year will be his Wrangler car.

Here is a render of what my car will look like on the track this year.

when papyrus nascar racing first came my friends and I had to have it
and drove all over the state until we all had a copy, the first set didnt
have all tracks and then they came out with a track pack to add everything
but daytona due to licensing rights, you had to have a steering wheel too.

friend of mine used to try and race with his joystick and was good until he came over and tried my sprint wheel, another road trip all over creation trying to locate a wheel for him. LOL, hard to believe that was just about 16 years ago and it's really amazing how far the graphics have some since then too.

I bought a TSW steering wheel about 5 years ago. best wheel I have had. Most of the sime racers either use TSW or Logitec Momos. Mine cost me just under $400. of course there are more expensive TSW wheels. Good thing is you can have themn built to your specifications.

I have 3 copies of the NR2003 sim. always have a back up. all tracks are included and then some. with people making more tracks available you can run a whole season now with no problems. And like the picture shows, there are numerous COT mods out there for the game.

Sounds like a lot of fun but have always been more of a first person shooter player myself
I do that too, when I have the time. COD wow and MW.

here is the thing about sim racing. you actually race against other drivers from around the states or the world for that matter. the league has a web stie and you can upload you cars for others to down load them and put them in their game so they see what you are driving. We have some real dog fights at some tracks. we race about 45% of what the real race calls for. real weather setting and hopefully green flag pitstops too.

well the Nationwide series is using the Challenger this season as well as the Mustang. The Camaro is not worthy or really not interested in Nascar racing.

but here are some pics of a Nationwide series Challenger
