I drove by Mark Dodge today and took some pics as you can see them inthe challenger a day post. Once I pulled into the lot my car had all eyes on it, salesman eyes. #1 they couldnt beleive what they were seeing #2 they were trying to figure out what car I had because they didn't have one on their lot!!!

they kept asking me if it was a down badged RT.LMAO!!!! none of them know what modding is either. they couldnt beleive that mine was an SE with dual exhaust and couldnt figure out how I did that. they said yo got a what exhaust?? Plus I had them thinking about my hood badges of course mine has the 3.5L badge along with the Hemi badge. Had them thinking on that one. I know this will spark some debate but lets save that for another post ok? I finally did get one thinking though.

but all in all, these guys had no clue what this car is about, or even the history of the car, thank god I didnt open the hood, my six pack cover would have blown their mind then. :tease:
this is one reason why you dont see many on the road and see alot still at the dealer. All they are looking at is the $$$$ signs that they can make off of selling one of these.

they couldn't figure out the S/E style badge I had in the grille and on the side of the fender. they still kept thinking it was an R/T. in the long run they loved the stipe package I had on it and quite a few of them said that it was the best looking one they had seen yet.:thumbupleft:

again as I left the dealership all eyes were on my car:rockout:

 So true. Not enough of them are "car guys" or "car girls." Not only do they not know many of the specifics about any given vehicle, they don't know enough about cars in general.

So VERY True. Mark Dodge Salesman is the reason that I don't have EVIC in my car. Because he didn't have that slightest idea about any of the features. I had one of those Idiots tell me that the lighted cup holders didn't really light up. That a reflection made it seem that way.
Then when I went to pick up the car, I put a CD in with Rush "Tom Sawyer" to try out that Sound Group II system & the Salesman said Oh I love Journey.
What they need there is a :nutkick:

I hope you punched him dead in the face
:rockout:

agree with all posts
AND...much as we want to hope but the Challenger just does not have the name recognition Camaro and Mustang holds
Name/product recognition is an instant + over a less known product...known fact.
I don't want to see challengers every 1/4 mile like mustangs or even chargers.
I want them on the road and popular enough to keep a steady supply of good, reasonably priced after market parts and accessories

Have agree with everyones post here!

I went by our stealership to price out the chrome gas cap and rear dual valance. I was driving my truck. I first stopped at the front door were the keep there stock of new Challengers. A salesman came rushing out to ask me if I was ready to buy one today ( ) I started asking him the about performace exhaust systems and the differant sized pipes from the R/T and the SRT-8. I get:?: Along " aaaaaaaaa there differant sizes "
I looked up under the R/T sitting there and asked him when and why did the change out the double suit case mufflers to two singles, I get The same anwser again " aaaaaaaaaaa they did, how do you know that?" . I than asked him is that is that due to it has the six speed and not an auto tranny so it has a differant HEMI motor. He responds back, " oh no the hemi is the HEMI and it comes in two sizes, a 5.7 and a 6.1. They dont put a 6.1 in the R/T's he says. I than asked him whats the HP differance between the auto 5.7 HEMI and the six speed. He replies " its the same "
Im trying to hold back from smacking him at this point. I take a breath, pause, and than ask him this. Sir, how long have you been selling cars? And what does dodge due to train you on these cars? " No ****" I get the same dum look and a long, aaaaaaaaaaaaaa well they really dont train us on the details of these cars. I than asked him how would you expect to sell this car to anyone like me who knows more about these cars than the guy selling it to me? And again I get " aaaaaaaaaa well these cars just sell themselves "
I start running my gums now ( ask Sickr ).... Let me ask you why you sit here all day with no Up's and not read up on all the details of these and the HEMI powered Chargers and the differant pkges they have just so you'd know what your taking about. :readthemanual:
His responce is well I dont need to, and knowone tells us too. I play games and text on my phone". Holding back from a:nutkick:I say to him what ever and walk inside.

Now the dealership GM, Dion remembers me and walks out of his office to say hi. He asks me how's our Challenger doing and em I looking to upgrade to that R/T out front? The salesman from outside is standing behind me and asks me " you own one allready?" Dion the GM answers him saying yes I sold him a SE_G. That same dum ass says whats an SE_G. Dion and I just looked at each other. I said to him does anyone here know anything about torgue, HP, Mods, CAI's or any other standard or upgrades for the Challengers here. Dion says " well Im not sure they would all your questions but we can find the info your looking for". Than the salesman from outside chimes in to Dion, Sir this guy knows all that info. He was telling me about all that stuff outside. Dion turns back to me an asks me if I want a job selling cars:rofl:

That's why I don't talk to salespeople. When I go look in a lot I tell them to go away, just ask Dodge Country. When I know there is a car I want on the lot, I will beckon for the little man.

Research is your friend anytime you want a new car
