Today, while searching Ebay, I found a person selling functional hood scoops for my car. He wants $75 dollars for the two of them. A video show looks very easy to apply them. I just don't know if rain will come in through the scoops if they are functional. Does anyone have these and if so, what happens when it rains? If enough people say it is not good, I will not purchase them. I am still looking for a Handle for the shifter that is chrome and does not cost $120 to get. There has to be chrome ones that say Mopar or Dodge on them and cost less than an insane price of $120 or less.

    Thanks,

The R/T Classic and the SRT come from the factory with functional hood scoops. No problem with the rain.

    Thanks Jim.
I wasn't sure if the rain got inside. Remember, I am in SW Florida. And when it rains here, it pours. In one rainstorm, we had 9.5 inches of rain. How is that for rain? I try not to go out if the rain is forecasted. Thanks for your input! Have a great week!

by hood scoops do you mean the ones on the R/T and SRT or is this a different hood or just a functional piece that you mount? I know the water shouldn't matter but I am getting the Cervini Hood which makes the R/T fully functional supposedly I too would worry if any rain water got trapped in the system and made a mess.

    No,
It just take the place of the stock ones and fits through the two holes under the hood. It really make the car cooler up to 10%. It comes with a temp guage and you can check the temp from in the engine compartment. As long as the rain isn't going to effect it, I think I am going to get them!

No. They are designed for the S/E, R/T and SRT8. It is cool looking. Read my above comments

They are super easy to put in. Just one word of warning - put down TWO layers of painter's tape (if you've watched Speedy's video, then you'll know what I mean). I used one and the plastic tool I used broke through a little bit - not bad, but still.

    Yes Jim,
That is exactly what I want to order for my car. Based on all the comments, I guess there are no issues with rain. Want to add more to "Christine" and have her stand out more everyday! I always get "thumbs-up" when I drive it anywhere in this large city. All the stinkin rice burners still want to race me and I am getting closer to adding a little secret for them. The car might say 3.5 High Output on the decals, but there might be something else under the hood. (Wahooo!)

same here except for the swamp part. even when getting a bath unless you direct stream in, then it just a slight splash that can be wiped away.

Like how when you open the hood, you can hear the engine better. With the functional scoops, you have two openings for the sound to come through.
