drove by Hixon Autoplex in Leesville today and saw a Black R/T sitting on the used lot, foubnd out that my neighbor traded his in on a Toyota SUV. :eyeroll:

So I call my buddy that works there as a salesman and asked him what they were asking for it.

Well Dave it is pretty loaded and has 26,000 miles on it. And these cars are valued pretty high. I said, what are you asking for it!!!

$40,000.

I SAID WHAT???:bigwow:

are you friggen nuts??:bigrolling:

you can buy a RT classic for just over #39,000 and I just saw 4 of them in Lake Charles Friday!!!

Well the lowest we may go is $35,000 give or take.

Then I told him you could by a friggen semi loaded RT for $34,000

who in the hell is going to buy a used 2009 car when they can buy a 2010 for less than what you are asking ?

well so much for trying to bargin for that one.

Needless to say I will be watching how long this car will sit on their lot at that price.

I am going to see if my neighbor will tell me how much they gave him for it. If he makes himself visible.

That's insane....

First, the fact he traded it in on a Toyota!!! A Toyota???

Then, that the dealer is asking so much!!!!

And a new R/T Classic can be had for about $35,000

dont know if they sold it or not , but yesterday it wasnt there. Not sure if they have sold it, when I make my run to work on Monday I will check again. If they did buy it for that much they are in dire need of a financial consultant.

We have a dealer here that has a 2009 RT 6 spd car they are asking $35,000.00 for. It looks loaded except no sun roof and near 8,000 miles. I thought they was high.
To be honest, I like seeing used ones selling at high prices. That keeps the resale value on these cars higher.

I'm just surprised at how many 2009's are being sold as used already.

well, the sales woman that my wife spoke too called her today ....the going price for the 0- RT is now $29,999. a far cry from that 4$5,999 that they started with.

Any way, after talking to my sales guy at Green's, he told me that I would benifit more if and when Dodge does a 0% finance. He told me that a deal could be worked out that way and trade in my SE.

he also said that the $29,999 that Hixon is asking seems still high considering the car has 26,000 miles on it.

Now the ball is in Dodge's court to offer 0% financing

Tell them you know what they gave for the R/T which was 22K. If they want to make a quick 5-7K on it they should offer you the 0% financing. It seems they came back down to earth pretty quick from the 45k huh?
