OK, I told the wife what I wanted for either my birthday or Christmas, since both are coming up in the next couple of months. Where can I get the best price on the Predator. I know it will be more than $300 or so, but I need to get the best price available.

Check out these vendors: BMC Performance, HHP, DCX Depot, RPM Outlet, don't forget the Diablosport website themselves. Sometimes they run package deals. I've seen them throw in cables, synthetic oil & filter, brake pads, even a custom CMR tune.

cheapest i found was here
http://4wheelonline.com/Diablosport_Predator_Dodge_HEMI_SRT8.98653.262014

$289.95 with free shipping. i used to buy a lot of stuff for my truck from them
back in the 4 wheelin days. never had any problems

---------------------edit---------------------

just found this one for $287. also free shipping
http://www.truckcustomizers.com/pro...r-tuner-u7136-chrysler-dodge-challenger.html#
they seem to have the best price for the update cable too
http://www.truckcustomizers.com/products/diablosport-predator-interface-kit-usb.html

i have never dealt with them so i cant tell you from personal experience but if you use a CC to pay
you are pretty much covered if they arent reputable. also searched around and they seem to be
pretty good from some of the comments i found.

i put them in the cart and came to $321.99 with no tax and free shipping.
seems like the best deal

i was searching for coupon codes unfortunately here at work i cant access their
facebook page which is where they seem to post their coupon codes
www.facebook.com/.../TruckCustomizers/111001242534?v...
so give that a look too and let me know how you make out.

heck at that price i may just have to spring for one myself.....

predator has been ordered. well at least Dec 25th will look good.
Looks like Dave is gonna have the first 15 second SE in the club.

well, after installing hte 91 oct tune I did see an improvment in the 0-60 performance. got it down into the 7's. It does seems to wnat to haul ass from the the start now. Still cant turn the tires though.

one thing I have not found to change yet is the rev limiter. I just may be looking in the wrong place. all I cna see to change is the esp off/on and the tire size.

question about the esp off/on, If I turn it off with the predator will that mean it is off from the get go or when I push the button on the dash to turn it off?

need a line lock now, lmao!!!
Thats great! What was your 0-60 before the predator?
you can't find the rev limitor on the predator?
did you find the speed limitor and cooling fan settings?
nope, havent found it yet either. hmmmmmm.,
what have you been able to find and change with the predator. i have one for my Hemi car, but never bought one for this V6 car because of the lack of transmission programming.
so far the 91 tune is installed, I guess I just have to do some exploring with it tomorrow. Just don't want to screw anything up. thats for sure. :?:

this is why i havent sprung for one yet, Dave will be my decision maker.

once he gets back to the track and lays down some numbers with it to compare to his stock runs that will tell me if its worth the $300.
i really am leaning towards a supercharger which was my intent when i bought the car but i just hate like hell voiding the lifetime warranty.

If you are considering a supercharger then you need the Predator to hold the timing/air/fuel maps that get readjusted for your boost level to prevent detonation. There are also various parameters in closed loop de-acceleration and a few others that need adjusting to keep the engine check lights off. As far as the 42RLE transmission goes, I have not had a problem. It's fuzzy logic controller has adjusted itself and shift points for the increase in torque/rpm.

For a 2009, the Predator does work and IMO is well worth the cost.
well so far the experience is worth it. I find the lag in acceleration is now dang near nill, when you give it the gas it goes. it doesn't hesitate or anything. Jack came by today and showed me where all the other adjustments were at on the predator. we did a small adjustment in the rev limiter area and a big adjustment in the speed limiter. (I dont think I can do 190 but that is where we set it)LMAO!! :neener: We didn't mess with the fan speed and all because I have not changed the thermostat to the 180 degree. All the choices to change were there except transmission stuff. (friggen 4 speed) but I don't know why they didn't do anything for the 4 speed since 98% of the S/E Challengers made in 09 were 4 speeds. I beleive there was a certain number of cars that were built with 5 speed at the end of the 09 year model.

I am running the 91 tune and with those above adjustments I do find a difference in overall performance. Now I havent check gas milage yet, I just filled up Saturday so right now I am just below the full mark.

testing my 0-60 time I was able to get it to 7.8 sec. When I was stock with the just dual exhaust it was 8.6 or so. So it has made a difference so far. I still can't turn the tires, but I feel a harder launch when I give it the gas from a standing start.

When I was beta testing the Predator with MM, this question was put directly by telephone to Diablosport, particularly just associated with changing the ring & pinion ratio. The question was mostly evaded, but my guess is that this was too complicated to re-engineer. They would have had to get into the software for the transmission control unit which is non trivial. However, they did say that the rear axel ratio could be changed with a Starscan. The 2.6L V6 has a 3.90/1 rear end AND the 42RLE transmission, so this combination may work.
Tony (S/S Dodge ) and myself are waiting until spring to play with it. My GUESS is that the PCM has an axel ratio parameter slot that is read by the TCU.
If it is in bounds of the TCU software, then all is well. This is how I would have designed the software. THIS IS ALL SPECULATION AND NOT VERIFIED.

of course you will keep us updated..;)
OK, another update on my car this week, I just got the new Goodyear RSA's put on the chrome clads I bought off of Jack. He hooked up my predator to change the tire size and we talked about changing the tune from the 91 to the 89. Since I have had the predator, I installed the 91 tune and it ran pretty dang good. Maybe too good-- gas milage really started to slip some. Last tank I filled up and got 18.6 mpg. Usually I don't get less than 22mpg. I can tell how much gas it uses when the needle starts moving off of full at around 70 miles. On the last tank it started to move after 40 miles. So before I left his tire place he put in the 89 tune and looks like the mpg's got better. I filled up after installed the tires and the 89 tune and it didn't move till about 65 miles traveled, I still have plenty of pep. So it doesn't look like the performance took that much of a hit. so for driving around town and back and forth from work, the 89 tune will stay on the car, I guess when I go to the track I can up the anty. ;)
