question on tire pressure monitoring system

1346 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  2B3LJ
I have a 2010 se with 2000 miles. I just placed a new set of 4 rims with new snow tires on without the tire pressure monitors in the rims. My dashboard tire pressure monitoring light didn't stay on. I thought it would to show the system isn't working. Is this a malfunction?

thanx

how long did you drive? it takes about 20 miles for the light to go out after
a tire has been low and re-aired. maybe it takes about the same for the system to trigger a low pressure warning.
if you have driven that distance or more already then i would say you have a deifnite
malfunction
dash sensor triggered after some 25 miles of driving
dash sensor triggered after some 25 miles of driving
there you go.
