Gentlemen,
Have read your threads and replies but I still don't have a answer to my question even from other forums, it is,
I have 20" on my 09 R/T which look great and the ride is good. I have taken a few long trips and always had in the back of my mind "SPARE TIRE just GOOOO" I want a spare!! Is there or is there not a factory spare for the 20", or can another size wheel work as a spare, or does one need to buy another 20" as a spare, (takes away trunk space) spoke w/dealers they didn't know there a--- to a hole in the ground and also said they would get back to me, "YEA RIGHT" never heard from? So gentelmen what's the REAL answer. Anyone? Help.

OK
from what i undertstand so long as you dont have the brembo brakes (SRT)
the 18" spare will work just fine on the RT even one that came with 20s
i believe the 18" spare is as tall or nearly as tall as the 20s with the stock
low profile tires.
the only probelm that some guys spoke of on another site was this it could
possibly mess up the rear gear and that they would pull a front wheel and
swap it to the rear if the flat was out back.

im sure if you look up your car that the 18" spare was an option even with the 20s
and since it is nearly the same size height due to the tires side wall height i dont see
where there would be a gear issue especially since the space saver is there to get you
to the nearest tire store at no more than 50 and not take you across country at 70

:yeahthat: :goodpost: For temporary use, different heights won't damage the rear end - it's like driving in circles is all - as long as keep the speed and distance within reason.

Just tell the dealer you want the spare for an R/T. As long as they can figure that out, it will fit.
by the way, once you are certain dont buy it from the dealer
go to car-part.com
and do a search
i put in

2007
magnum
wheel, without image
area (i just did northeast as thats where i am)
distance ( closest comes up first)
then my zip code.

next page click 18x4 and then search

the 2005 up 18x4 inch spare is the same for
magnum,charger and 300c
just doing to search again i found 2 spares within 200 miles of me for $60
and they generally run around $20 to ship UPS

you can do the same search for the jack assembly.

my spare and jack cost me $140 shipped for everything.:thumbupleft:

For those that want a new spare and not used salvage, and you have R/T or SE or SRT, there are alternatives for you.

Here is a link to some Spare Tire Info.

Tip:92
Challenger Spare Tire(s) and SRT Adaptor/Spacer

I got a used convenience spare from a salvage yard only to find out later
that it was slightly bent and not a good alternative.
