We'll I decided to go out to a small straight secluded road to do a little testing with the new raised shift points from Diablo. (This is with using the 93Oct tune and running WOT from 20-95)

    Day 1
    Stock:
    30-50: 1.660
    30-70: 4.013
    30-80: 5.603
    30-90: 7.386

    6200:
    30-50: 1.476
    30-70: 4.035
    30-80: 5.315
    30-90: 7.278
Note: 30-50 & 30-80 are a little distored because of the chirp from 1-2 and 2-3 (plus it began to sprinkle after the stock run, so roads didn't hold much traction when shifting)

    6400:
    30-50: 1.72
    30-70: 4.157
    30-80: 6.076
    30-90: 8.064
Note: Not sure if traction control became an issue from the damp roads, but after seeing the results I didn't test the 6400 shift point again lol
    _______________
    Day 2
    Stock run #1
    30-50: 1.667
    30-70: 4.050
    30-80: 5.647
    30-90: 7.394

    Stock run #2
    30-50: 1.661
    30-70: 4.023
    30-80: 5.655
    30-90: 7.411

    6200 run #1
    30-50: 1.479
    30-70: 3.936
    30-80: 5.346
    30-90: 7.126

    6200 run #2
    30-50: 1.387
    30-70: 3.986
    30-80: 5.467
    30-90: 7.377

    6200 run #3
    30-50: 1.424
    30-70: 4.028
    30-80: 5.470
    30-90: 7.280
Note: Using the 6200 shift point, 1-2 and 2-3 shifts may have distored the results for 30-50 and 30-80, but none the less 30-90 has improved a good amount

I really would like to do more testing with some better tires though, 1-2 chirp is a little more pronounced now with the new shift points. The speedometer will jump up about 10 mph when it shifts out of 1st, so I'm sure I'm losing some on the table with that as well. So far though, I feel that the 6200 shift point is the best, I know 1-2 tenths doesn't seem like much but I'm happy with it! We'll see how things go at the track once I go back

It should be sweeter when you reload your custom tune. Maybe not the 1-2 shift (even more wheel spin) but the 30-90. A tenth or two is nothing to scoff at, another tenth and I'm in solid mid-12's. Thank you o' research god!

I had Jack update my predator this past weekend and we loaded up the economy tune with some changes.

I had Jack change all the fan setting and the shift points RPM's and WOW!!:bigwow:Man , this thing just launches!! I did a WOT start and watched it shift past the 6000 point. and when it went to second there was no delay. and this was with the Eco tuned installed.(think it is far better than the stock tune for sure) Now as far as gas milage is concerned, I do think it gets better overall which means to me that I can goose it and run out some gears but I can cruise some and not burn as much gas. so far on this tank, I have over 180 hwy miles and the rest is intown driving and I am around 21 miles a gallon. before I would be around 17-18 MPG under the same circumstances.

Later on I may just load up the 91 tune and put some 93 oct. gas in it to see if it will chrip 2nd gear.;)

My shift points are controlled by my right hand and my left foot. Economy mode or power mode is controlled by my right foot. :layrubber:

Just curious to know Chris, how many passes total do you have on that rocket?

Bad daranged! They think they're getting their moneys worth from the little tune boxes that do nothing for us. I've TRIED to drive by the tach, but it's so slow/delayed there's really no point, but have bounced the rev limiter twice in a year so guess I'm doing ok! ;)

Tried to edit but gave up, but wondered are these shift points in sport shift or just put in D and stomp it? Does the five speed hold compression when u back off throttle in the lower gears like my SEs 4-speed did, and if so can u control the downshift Rs? Seems to me that while it is important not to redline TOO often, the more important part of the shift isn't the rpm your leaving, but the rpm you start the next gear in. If your hitting too far up in powerband, you may be losing some of your pulling torque and explain maybe why 62 works better than 64, which should also tell u don't trust that tach as redline is 61 on 5.7? Really doubt it's hitting 64, and my PAINTED redline in the 6-speed is round 58 but the Rumble Bees 5 speed routinely smacked 61 when running WOT.

Sickr, have you seen the new crom Diablo released? lol The new shift points are in both autostick and D. Why would our tachs be off? I can give you proof our cars are reving to 6400 (logs and dyno charts). Yes I understand that its important for where the next gear comes into play, which is why I thought the new shift points would help. Instead of dropping the rpms down to 3500 its drops it to just over 4000 where our tq really kicks in. You can adjust the raised shiftpoints for 6200rpms and 6400rpms. The only reason 6400rpms doesn't help is because our stock cams let the power fall off after 6200.
Plus the proof is up there ^^ 6200rpm shift points improve performance :rockout:

Glad ta see I'm not the only one up this late, Chris! Crom? Talking Greek ta me, LOL! Not that the tach not accurate, but it's slow seems to me and a few 6-speeders. I've allways shifted by ear which makes blasting stereo kinda hard, so I've tried to teach myself to shift by tach ( streeting as I'd never RUN with stereo on, tee hee)! If I ear shift it's always a split second delay seems, to the tach dropping, so I experimented. If I look at tach when shifting by ear, say it hits 5k then drops, to get the same shift by tach, I hit clutch/drop accel at 48k, still climbs to 5k before drop. Anyway thats what I ment bout tach bein slow, doesn't matter on an auto car, and unless I'm blasting music, not so much hear/here either ( I made a puny, LOL)!

Chris, when you left my shop today with the cutouts open, Christine sounded like a totally different car in the higher upper rpm range. They say they didn't tweak any of the current tunes, but man does my car run better even in this heat since the upgrade......

Not an update but something cool my car did today. I took off on the highway back into town and floored it letting it shift itself 1-2 at 6200, nice fat bark from the left rear wheel. Manual shifted 2-3 at 6150-6200ish and hard shift into third and loud bark from the right rear tire hahahahahaaaaaaaaaa! Line pressure must be greater at 6200 than at 5800? It's chirped third before but never with so much authority as it did today. The fun continues for I am.....................................................................

Here's a ride along with Jack in Black Voodoo!
Sorry for the crappy sound quality, I left the closed back on the Go-Pro, so everything is muffled. I'm only suppose to use the closed back for 100+mph runs lol.

We may have to make more videos...

Car loves the new found upper range rpms. No longer being held back under red line, it revs freely to 6200 and beyond. Thanks go to Chris and his go-pro camera which captured the sights and sounds. Yeah, i'm all for making more videos. Oh, BTW, Challenger sighting in that video. 2011 Red SE.
