Tip’s on Dodge Challenger’s

Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS).

TAMPER ALERT

The VTSS tamper alert feature will sound the horn three times upon
disarming, if the alarm was triggered and has since timed-out (about
18 minutes) or if the battery has been disconnected and reconnected.

This feature alerts the vehicle operator the VTSS alarm was activated
while the vehicle was unattended.

DISARMING

Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by
pressing the Unlock button of the RKE transmitter. Once the alarm has
been activated, either disarming method deactivates the alarm.

Pressing Panic button on the RKE transmitter will not disarm the VTSS.

That's good info.

In simple terms, it means that if you unlock your car with the remote, and the horn sounds three times:

1) Your alarm went off sometime between the last time you armed the alarm, and now.

And

2) You pissed off the neighbors for about 18 minutes while the alarm was going off.

And possibly

3) You have stuff missing out of your car.

Well bud, it you have stuff missing, that means they got into the cabin
and you must have a punched out door lock or busted window eh?

What I do at work or where I park, it LOOK who is parked next to me or
how/where the vehicle is parked. It unlocking the vehicle the VTSS system
lets you know it was activated, I would do a 360 deg around the vehicle
and check the bumpers, fenders and doors for dents/dings, etc.

I had to wait outside a Walmart in the parking lot for the wife to run in
and pick up something the other day and I was shocked at the number
of car alarms that were going off in the parking lot. Folks were beating
each others cars up like there was no tomorrow...

Folks these days are not nearly as courteous as they used to be in prior times.
Quite Sad though.....

I think Mr Admin sums it up well. Oh and latenite you are correct people do not care what they do to others property. I have felt it firsthand with the Challenger as you allready may remember from the other place.

A while back the wife and I went out to a movie and we drove her minivan there. There was no one parked near us when we went in.. however when we came out some idiot parked about 3 inches from the drivers side of her van. She had to climb in the passenger side. Part of me wanted to go ahead and accidently slam open the drivers do but I decided against it.

For one simple reason KARMA can be a _____!! :eek:ldtimer:
