when i had my corvette i actually put in a toggled light this way during shows and cruise nights it was off but available if ever needed.Even just a contact switch (like used under the hood for car alarms or after market remote starts) would work good. Just wire positive to the light, and have ground through the switch.

Maybe you could have the parts dept. at the dealership look it up and tell you what kind of set up it is.
