i finished installing the AFE stage II intake system. i am still in the middle of swapping the differential to 3.90 gears. the final mod for this weekend will be the srt hood duct scoops.

after looking at these scoops, they are a joke. they can't be any more that 2 square inches each side. no way could they ever flow enough air to feed the motor.

the differential is taking longer that i thought. taking a break before i go back into the garage.

Agreed. This is a pointless mod for the 3.5 IMO. might help vent heat at idle though. a person could dremel the stock non-functional scoops and get the same benefit and save $70-80

btw and off topic...do those brembo dress up kits interfere with pad changing/removal at all?

these function hood scoops are a waste on any motor. i installed them because i want to add the Cervini ram-air hood duct. it won't do anything as far as performance, but it is a gimmick mod with a big wow factor.

changing the brake pad with the caliper covers is no problem.

on the functional hood scoops,

i believe a guy on talk did a temp test with and without
them and while moving the under hood temps dropped
significantly.
then i doubt his technique used. look at your front grille. do you think an extra 2 square inches of air will significantly make a change? i so, then remove your grille emblem and see the same benefits as the hood scoops.

Yeah I installed the hoodvents, they work more as such but here in Texas, ain't no such thing as a bad vent! I'm not sure if the Cervinis will clear our intake on the 3.5, as I see they DO clear the mopar strutbrace, and I had to relocate my IAT to the bottom of the intake tube of my AFE stage 2, to clear the brace. Looks like the driverside scoopfunnel, is right where our TB is, could never get a responce from manufacturer, if this was the case or not. But they don't list it to fit ours,( but Mopar doesn't list the brace for the SE either)!

But the air coming in the scoops is ambient.
The air coming through the grill is raising in temp as it goes through the radiator.
